When is it to early to plant flowers in a pot and hang flower baskets, I'm worried about frost.?

I live in CT and the nights right now are in the low 40's. Should I bring them inside or cover them with something

1. If there is danger of a frost, bring them inside. You can just watch the temps each day for a few weeks, then you should be clear of frost danger.
